Mindfulness for Teens:                                                           How not to Just Survive but Thrive                                         Tuesday, September 26, 7-9:30 MHS Tiger Lounge

Teenagers today deal with many stresses and competing demands on their time and attention.   This workshop is designed to help teens learn tools to cope with the demands of a very busy life, so they can not only survive but thrive.  In this workshop, teens will learn and practice mindfulness exercises that help to increase focus and attention, reduce anxiety, find calm when feeling stressed or anxious and work with difficult, self-defeating and ruminating thoughts. This workshop is a well-developed, research-based curriculum pulling from the latest in the fields of Mindfulness, Neuroscience and Positive Psychology.  Teens will leave with practical tools to help them relax, navigate the stresses of school and social pressures, as well as cultivate a greater sense of joy and happiness, inner resilience and optimism. ​

This Course is being offered through LMCCE by Cheryl Brause, Thrive Tutoring's mindfulness specialist.

Our three-week program consists of three 90-minute group sessions. During the first class, students will spend 45 minutes with both Cheryl and Sabrina, while parents are invited to work with Jen during a complimentary introduction to the role nutrition plays in sleep, cognition and enhanced well-being. During the next two sessions, the students will spend 30 minutes with each coach building their knowledge of the fundamentals of mindfulness, nutrition, and cognition.  

​The fee for the 3 sessions is $490
